Terms of Service
Last updated 5 October 2026
Sotto helps you follow the conversation around you. These terms explain what you can expect and what’s your responsibility.
In full
1. Your agreement with Sotto
Sotto is a brand of Cat-Radar V.O.F.. These terms are between you and the company and cover your use of Sotto at thesotto.app and in the phone app. Using Sotto means agreeing to them. David makes Sotto and reads every message; contact him at david@thesotto.app.
Cat-Radar V.O.F.’s registered address is Marius Bauerstraat 30D2, 1062 AR Amsterdam, and its Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number is 85677353.
Sotto provides live subtitles and translations of the conversation around you. Without an account, you get two free minutes per device each day, plus one short extension. The day resets at midnight UTC. Sign in to continue beyond the allowance. Accounts are free, with no limit on subtitles while signed in and no payments today.
You must be at least 16 to use Sotto, with or without an account.
2. Using Sotto with others
Use Sotto for conversations you take part in or that the people speaking have agreed to have subtitled. Follow the recording and consent laws where you are. Do not abuse Sotto or use it to break the law.
Sending subtitles or audio with a note to David is your choice and your responsibility. Respect the rights of the people whose words or voices you send, including getting any consent the law requires. Sotto does not obtain anyone’s consent for you.
3. What you can expect
Subtitles and translations are automatic. They can be wrong, late or missing. Do not rely on Sotto for medical, legal, safety or other decisions where a mistake matters.
Sotto is provided as is, without warranties, to the extent the law allows. To that same extent, Cat-Radar V.O.F. excludes liability arising from your use of Sotto. Nothing in these terms removes rights or excludes liability that the law says must remain.
4. Your words and your account
You keep ownership of what you say and save. Sotto claims none of it. The Privacy Policy explains how your speech is handled.
Keep your sign-in email under your control. You can stop using Sotto any time and delete your account in Your account, opened from the menu. You can also delete saved transcripts in the app.
Sotto may end your access if you abuse the service or use it to break the law.
5. Law and changes
Dutch law governs these terms. You keep any mandatory rights under the laws where you live.
When these terms change, the date at the top changes too. Account holders receive an email about material changes. Continuing to use Sotto means accepting the updated terms.

If a translation differs from the English version, the English version takes precedence.
